What Size is Right for Me?
It is essential to select the best face mask type for your environment of use, whether you wear glasses or not. If you’re purchasing our D95 P2 Respirator Mask and work in an environment that conducts fit testing, your fit tester will advise how to wear your glasses with your mask.
We recommend that you ask your optometrist for tips on preventing your glasses from fogging for other face mask types, including our Level 3 Surgical Mask, Level 2 Medical Procedure Mask, and 3-Ply Community Face Mask. In addition, your local pharmacy may sell anti-fog lens cleaners, sprays, or gels to help prevent your glasses from fogging while wearing a mask.
We recommend following your facility or workplace’s mask fit-testing protocols. If face mask fit testing isn’t offered at your workplace, you can make an appointment with an independent fit-testing service.
Please call 1800 338 633 to see if we have recommended fit testing providers in your area. Not using your mask in a healthcare or high-risk environment? Check with your workplace as fit testing may not be required.
Our D95 P2 Respirator Masks are recommended for use in hospitals, healthcare, and clinical environments that conduct fit checking procedures to ensure your mask is on correctly.
If you’re buying our Level 3 Surgical Face Masks, Level 2 Medical Procedure Face Masks, or 3-Ply Community Face Masks, watch our Mask Instruction Video or download our How to Guide to ensure your mask is on correctly.
You may need the XL FitClip™ if you find that the body of your D95 P2 Respirator Mask fits and seals on your face well, but the retention straps don’t reach or seem excessively tight and uncomfortable.
If accurate fit testing is an essential part of your role and you wish to use the XL FitClip™, it is advisable to undergo fit testing again. You can purchase D95 P2 Respirator Masks with standard size FitClips™ already attached or buy the XL FitClips™ separately in boxes of 50 or 1,000.
Detmold Medical has not conducted studies about how long you should wear a Detmold Face Mask before it loses effectiveness.
In the context of COVID-19, the Australian Government Infection Control Expert Group recommends, “A surgical mask can be used continuously for up to four hours, as long as it does not become moist, soiled, or damaged. Surgical masks must not be stored or reused after removal.”
